David Tyson Smith is an American attorney and politician serving as a member of the Missouri House of Representatives for the 46th District. Born and raised in Columbia, Missouri, he earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Missouri and a Juris Doctor from Tulane University Law School. Before entering politics, he practiced law in New Orleans and later founded the firm Smith and Parnell LLC in Columbia. In 2021, he made history as the first Black state representative for Columbia.
