Sir Desmond Swayne is a British Conservative Party politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for New Forest West since 1997. Before entering politics, he worked as a teacher and a computer systems manager at the Royal Bank of Scotland. He served as a major in the Army Reserve and saw active duty in Iraq in 2003. During his parliamentary career, he held various roles, including Parliamentary Private Secretary to David Cameron and Minister for International Development.
