Dianne Kohler Barnard is a South African politician and former journalist serving as a Member of the National Assembly for the Democratic Alliance. Before entering politics, she spent 23 years in radio and print journalism, notably managing the KwaZulu-Natal offices of SAfm. Since her election to parliament in 2004, she has held various shadow ministerial portfolios, including Police, Communications and Digital Technologies, and State Security. She is known for her vocal criticism of government management and has been a prominent figure in South African opposition politics.
