Dilith Jayaweera is a Sri Lankan politician, entrepreneur, and lawyer who currently serves as a Member of Parliament. Before entering politics, he established himself as a prominent media mogul and businessman, founding the advertising firm Triad Advertising and the television network TV Derana, while also serving as the Chairman of the George Steuart Group. He formally entered the political arena in 2023 as the leader of the Mawbima Janatha Pakshaya. Jayaweera played a significant role in the 2019 presidential campaign of Gotabaya Rajapaksa and later contested the 2024 presidential election as the candidate for the Sarvajana Balaya alliance before securing his parliamentary seat through the national list.
