Doug Downey

Doug Downey is a Canadian politician serving as a Member of Provincial Parliament for the riding of Barrie—Springwater—Oro-Medonte. First elected in 2018, he has held several key government positions, including serving as the Attorney General of Ontario. Before entering provincial politics, Downey practiced law as a certified specialist in real estate and served two terms on the Orillia City Council. He holds degrees from Wilfrid Laurier University, Brock University, Dalhousie University, and Osgoode Hall Law School, and has been extensively involved in the Ontario Bar Association and various provincial advisory councils.
