Edwin Carbonell Obras is an American politician serving as a member of the Washington House of Representatives for the 33rd Legislative District. Born in the Philippines and raised in Seattle, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in American Ethnic Studies from the University of Washington, as well as a Master of Public Administration and a Graduate Certificate in Non-Profit, Philanthropy and Social Change from Northeastern University. Prior to his appointment to the legislature in December 2024, Obras spent over 15 years working for the City of Seattle's Human Services Department, where he served as a deputy division director. He has also been active in community leadership, serving as the board president of the Filipino Community of Seattle since 2019.
