Prior to her election to the Senedd, she served as a councillor for the Ystrad ward on the Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council from 2017 to 2022. During her time as a councillor, she gained recognition for leading a successful campaign to provide free sanitary products in all schools within the borough. Additionally, she previously worked as an office manager for Senedd member Heledd Fychan.
