Emile Roemer

Emile Roemer is a Dutch politician currently serving as the King's Commissioner of the province of Limburg, a position he has held since December 2021. A prominent member of the Socialist Party, he previously served as a member of the House of Representatives from 2006 to 2018 and acted as the party's parliamentary leader from 2010 to 2017. Before his national political career, Roemer worked as an elementary school teacher and held various local government roles in Boxmeer, including alderman. He also served as the acting mayor of Heerlen and Alkmaar before assuming his current gubernatorial role.
