Emily Buss is an American politician, nonprofit executive, and community advocate serving as a member of the Utah State Senate representing the 11th district. Sworn in on December 17, 2025, she is notable for being the first third-party state legislator in Utah and the youngest sitting senator in the state at the time of her appointment. Buss co-founded the Birthday Box Foundation, a nonprofit organization supporting children in need, and previously worked as an AmeriCorps member and case manager. Her legislative focus includes government operations, health and human services, and appropriations.
