Eric Bassler

Eric Bassler is an American politician and financial advisor currently serving as a member of the Indiana Senate, representing the 39th district since 2014. A graduate of Indiana University Bloomington with degrees in chemistry, psychology, and economics, he previously worked as a consultant on bank reform and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in the Soviet Union, Albania, and Ukraine. In his legislative career, he has held leadership roles including chair of the Senate Insurance and Financial Institutions Committee and ranking member of the Senate Appropriations Committee. Bassler has announced that he will not seek re-election for a fourth term in 2026.
