First elected in 1995, he is the longest-serving member of the Ontario Provincial Parliament. Throughout his career, he has held several cabinet positions, including Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs under the governments of Mike Harris and Doug Ford. Before entering provincial politics, he served as the mayor of the Township of Southwest Oxford and operated a feed business.
