Etsushi Uchida is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture. Born in Urayasu, he began his career as a municipal employee before being elected to the Urayasu City Council in 2003 and later serving three terms in the Chiba Prefectural Assembly. He was first elected mayor in 2017 and has since secured re-election, including an uncontested victory in 2025. During his tenure, he has focused on municipal administration, including the implementation of a partnership oath system for LGBT couples and fiscal measures to address the COVID-19 pandemic.
