A member of The Left party, she previously served as a member of the Landtag of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern from 2016 to 2023 and was a long-time member of the Rostock City Council. Kröger holds degrees in political science and public law from the University of Rostock and the University of Tübingen. Throughout her career, she has focused on cultural, media, and digital policy, as well as housing and queer politics.
