Frances D'Souza, Baroness D'Souza is a British scientist and politician who has served as a member of the House of Lords since 2004. A crossbencher, she previously held the position of Lord Speaker from 2011 to 2016. Before her parliamentary career, she was a prominent human rights advocate, serving as the director of the organization Article 19 from 1989 to 2002. Educated in anthropology at University College London and the University of Oxford, she has held various research and consultancy roles throughout her career.
