Tanni Grey-Thompson is a British life peer, television presenter, and former wheelchair racer. Widely regarded as one of the most successful Paralympic athletes in history, she won 16 Paralympic medals, including 11 golds, and held over 30 world records during her competitive career. Since her appointment to the House of Lords in 2010, she has served as a crossbencher, focusing on disability rights, sports policy, and social issues. She is a vocal advocate for the protection of vulnerable individuals and has actively opposed legislation regarding assisted dying. Beyond her parliamentary work, she has held numerous advisory roles, including chairing ukactive and serving as Chancellor of Northumbria University.
