Fred Shanks is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Mississippi House of Representatives for the 60th district. He assumed office in March 2018 and holds the position of chair of the House Constitution Committee. Before his election to the state legislature, Shanks worked at Brandon Discount Drugs, served as a reserve police officer in Brandon, Mississippi, and was a member of the Brandon Board of Aldermen. He is the son of the late college baseball coach Doug Shanks.
