Genichiro Yamashita is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Shimanto City in Kochi Prefecture. Born in 1979, he graduated from Yokohama National University before working in his family's gravel business and later in the IT sector. He has held leadership roles in the Junior Chamber International and served as a private secretary to lawmaker Masanao Ozaki. Yamashita was elected as mayor in April 2025 with the support of the Liberal Democratic Party, assuming office in May 2025.
