Geoffrey Macho

Geoffrey Macho is a Ugandan politician and educator currently serving as the Member of Parliament for Busia Municipality. First elected in 2016, he has been a vocal advocate for infrastructure development, service delivery, and mental health awareness, notably chairing the Parliamentary Forum on Mental Health. Throughout his tenure, he has focused on legislative oversight, including calls for forensic audits of public institutions and improved funding for healthcare programs. Although he initially rose to prominence as a member of the National Resistance Movement, he has occasionally acted independently on key constitutional issues. In 2025, he announced his decision to withdraw from the race for the 2026 parliamentary elections to focus on his private business interests in education and healthcare.
