Gideon Amos

Gideon John Amos is a British politician, architect, and urban designer who has served as the Member of Parliament for Taunton and Wellington since 2024. Before his election to the House of Commons, he held a distinguished career in planning and sustainable development, including serving as the chief executive of the Town and Country Planning Association and as a commissioner for the Infrastructure Planning Commission. In 2009, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his contributions to sustainable development. Amos previously served as a Liberal Democrat member of the Oxford City Council from 1992 to 1996.
