Gilles Platret

Gilles Platret is a French politician who has served as the Mayor of Chalon-sur-Saône since 2014. A member of The Republicans (LR), he has also served as a member of the Regional Council of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté since 2016. Throughout his political career, Platret held leadership roles within his party, including serving as a spokesperson starting in 2017 and as a vice president from 2019 to 2023. He has been a frequent candidate for the French National Assembly, running unsuccessfully in the 5th constituency of Saône-et-Loire in 2017, 2022, and 2024. Known for his focus on secularism, he remains a prominent figure in regional politics.
