Gilles Verstraeten

Gilles Verstraeten is a Belgian politician, lawyer, and political commentator serving as a member of the Parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region since 2019. A member of the New Flemish Alliance (N-VA), he also serves as a municipal councilor in Anderlecht. Verstraeten studied law at KU Leuven and Vrije Universiteit Brussel. Before his election, he worked as a personal assistant to MEP Daniel Hannan and held leadership roles at the Open Europe think tank and Students for Liberty. Politically, he identifies as a conservative and classical liberal, focusing his legislative work on social affairs, education, integration, LGBT issues, and the economy.
