Glenys Thornton, Baroness Thornton

Glenys Thornton is a British politician and life peer who has served as a Member of the House of Lords since 1998. Raised in Bradford, she holds a background in the co-operative movement and served as the General Secretary of the Fabian Society from 1993 to 1996. During her parliamentary career, she has held roles including Government Whip and Health Minister. Beyond her legislative duties, she has been involved in social enterprise and served as the Chief Executive of the Young Foundation starting in 2015.
