Grace Meng is an American politician and lawyer serving as the U.S. Representative for New York's 6th congressional district since 2013. A member of the Democratic Party, she previously served in the New York State Assembly from 2009 to 2012. As the first Asian American elected to Congress from New York, Meng has focused on issues such as education, consumer protection, and religious freedom. She currently serves as the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies within the House Committee on Appropriations.
