An automation engineer by training and a graduate of the AGH University of Science and Technology in Kraków, he previously worked at the Zofiówka coal mine. Before his parliamentary career, he was active in local government, serving as a city councilor and chairman of the city council in Jastrzębie-Zdrój. Throughout his tenure in the Sejm, he has been re-elected multiple times, currently serving in his fourth consecutive term.
