Harini Amarasuriya

Harini Amarasuriya is a Sri Lankan politician, academic, and activist currently serving as the Prime Minister of Sri Lanka. A sociologist by training, she previously worked as a senior lecturer at the Open University of Sri Lanka and was a prominent trade unionist with the Federation of University Teachers' Association. Entering parliament in 2020 via the National List, she became a key figure in the National People's Power party. As Prime Minister and Minister of Education, she has focused on educational reform, social inclusion, and gender equality.
