Hasan Basri Sönmez

Hasan Basri Sönmez is a Turkish politician and businessman currently serving as a Member of the Grand National Assembly representing Isparta. Born in 1974 in Isparta, he previously served as the provincial head of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) starting in 2020. He resigned from his provincial leadership role in 2022 to run in the May 2023 general elections, where he was elected to parliament. During his tenure, he has served on the Human Rights Investigation Commission. In November 2024, he was removed from the MHP and currently serves as an independent member of parliament.
