Hidetoshi Sano is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Kishiwada City in Osaka Prefecture. Born in Kaizuka City, he moved to Kishiwada during his youth. He holds a degree from Hokkai-Gakuen Kitami University (now Hokkai-Gakuen University). Before his election as mayor, Sano worked as a secretary for House of Representatives member Taro Nakayama and later served as a postmaster at the Kishiwada Komatsuri Post Office. He also held the position of accounting manager for the Liberal Democratic Party's Kishiwada branch. Sano was elected mayor in April 2025 following a recall election that resulted in the removal of his predecessor.
