Hiromasa Hayashi is a Japanese politician currently serving his fourth term as the Mayor of Yamagata City in Gifu Prefecture. Born in 1951, he began his career as a local government official in the former Takatomi Town in 1970. Following the municipal merger that created Yamagata City, he held several administrative leadership roles within the city government, including director of the health and welfare department and head of the municipal secretariat. He was first elected mayor in 2011 with the support of the Democratic Party and the Liberal Democratic Party, and has since secured re-election multiple times without opposition.
