Hiroshi Kudo is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Wakkanai in Hokkaido. Born in 1949, he graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Hokkaido University. Before entering politics, he had a long career within the Wakkanai municipal government, where he served as the Director of the Planning and Coordination Department and the Director of the Economic Department, eventually becoming the Deputy Mayor. He was first elected as Mayor of Wakkanai in 2011 and has since been re-elected multiple times, securing his fourth term in 2023 with the support of major political parties including the Liberal Democratic Party and the Constitutional Democratic Party of Japan.
