Hirotoshi Wako is a Japanese politician and businessman currently serving as the Mayor of Tomiya City in Miyagi Prefecture. Born in 1964, he is the son of former Tomiya town mayor Teruo Wako. Before entering politics, he established a designated inspection agency in 1999 and later founded Tomiya Power Co., Ltd. in 2012. After an initial unsuccessful bid for town mayor in 2008, he was elected as the mayor of Tomiya Town in 2015. Following the town's transition to city status in 2016, he became the first mayor of Tomiya City and has since been re-elected to multiple terms.
