中山義隆

Yoshitaka Nakayama is a Japanese politician currently serving as the Mayor of Ishigaki, Okinawa. A graduate of Kinki University, he worked at Nomura Securities before entering local politics, serving as a member of the Ishigaki City Council. First elected mayor in 2010, he has secured five consecutive terms in office. Nakayama is known for his conservative political stance, including his support for the deployment of the Japan Self-Defense Forces on Ishigaki Island. Throughout his tenure, he has faced various controversies, including a 2025 no-confidence vote that led to his temporary resignation and subsequent re-election, as well as scrutiny regarding his official conduct and travel.
