Hiroyasu Chiyomatsu is a Japanese politician currently serving his fourth term as the Mayor of Izumisano City in Osaka Prefecture. After graduating from Doshisha University and completing graduate studies at Lincoln University in the United States, he worked at Horiba, Ltd. before entering politics. He served as a member of the Izumisano City Council for four terms, including a tenure as council chair, before being elected mayor in 2011. During his mayoral tenure, he gained national attention for his aggressive promotion of the hometown tax donation program, which made Izumisano a top recipient of donations in Japan. He has also been involved in educational policy initiatives, including the adoption of specific history and civics textbooks, and is a member of the Ryoma Project.
