Hussein Mwinyi

Hussein Ali Mwinyi is a Tanzanian politician serving as the President of Zanzibar since 2020. A member of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi party and the son of former Tanzanian president Ali Hasan Mwinyi, he previously served as Tanzania's Minister of Defence and National Service. His administration has focused on combating corruption, promoting economic growth through the blue economy, strengthening diplomatic and trade ties with international partners including China, and advancing women's rights.
