Samia Suluhu Hassan is a Tanzanian politician serving as the sixth President of Tanzania since March 2021. She is the first woman to hold the presidency, having previously served as Vice-President from 2015 until 2021, and ascended to office following the death of her predecessor John Magufuli. Her political career includes serving as a member of the Zanzibar House of Representatives, Minister of State for Union Affairs, and Member of Parliament for Makunduchi.
