Ummy Mwalimu

Ummy Ally Mwalimu is a Tanzanian politician and a long-serving member of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party. Currently serving as a Member of Parliament for Tanga Constituency, she has held various high-level cabinet positions since 2010, including multiple tenures as the Minister of Health. Throughout her career, she has focused on public health, gender equality, and legal reform, notably advocating for the prohibition of underage marriage. She holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Dar es Salaam and a Master of Laws from the University of Pretoria.
