January Makamba is a Tanzanian politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for the Bumbuli constituency since 2010. A member of the ruling Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party, he has held several high-level government positions, including Minister of Energy and Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation. Educated in the United States with a focus on conflict analysis and resolution, Makamba previously served as a personal assistant to President Jakaya Kikwete.
