Ioannis Gkaranis

Ioannis Gkaranis is a Greek politician currently serving as the Mayor of Komotini, a position he has held since 2019. Born and raised in Komotini, he is a graduate of the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science at the Democritus University of Thrace, where he also pursued postgraduate studies. Gkaranis began his political career as a municipal councilor in 2011 and subsequently served for several years as the Deputy Mayor for Social Services before his election as mayor.
