Rena Dourou

Rena Dourou is a Greek political scientist and politician serving as a member of the Hellenic Parliament. A prominent figure in the Coalition of the Radical Left (Syriza), she previously served as the Regional Governor of Attica from 2014 to 2019, where she focused on social welfare initiatives. Dourou has been a vocal advocate for the separation of church and state and has actively participated in anti-globalization and human rights movements. Throughout her career, she has navigated significant legal challenges related to her tenure as governor, ultimately receiving acquittals in major court cases concerning the 2017 Mandra floods and the 2018 Mati wildfires.
