Irena Hrstić

Irena Hrstić is a Croatian politician and medical doctor serving as the Minister of Health of Croatia since December 2024. A specialist in gastroenterology and internal medicine, she graduated from the Faculty of Medicine in Zagreb in 1995 and previously served as the youngest gastroenterologist in Croatia at the age of 33. Before her ministerial appointment, she held a management role at Pula Hospital and served as a state secretary in the Ministry of Health. She is a prominent member of the Croatian Democratic Union in Pula and has been active in local politics, including a candidacy for the prefect of Istria in 2021.
