Irma Juan Carlos is a Mexican politician and member of the Chinantec Indigenous people who has served as a Deputy in the Chamber of Deputies for Oaxaca's 2nd district since 2018. A biologist by training, she has focused her legislative career on environmental conservation, the rights of Indigenous and Afro-Mexican peoples, and the promotion of social justice. Before her election to Congress, she held various roles in public administration and served as a state council member for the National Regeneration Movement (Morena). She is recognized for her advocacy regarding the recognition of Indigenous women and the protection of biodiversity within communal territories.
