Jóhann Páll Jóhannsson is an Icelandic politician and government minister who has served as the Minister of Environment, Energy and Climate since December 2024. A member of the Social Democratic Alliance, he was first elected to the Althing in 2021, representing Reykjavík North before moving to represent Reykjavík South in 2024. Prior to his political career, he was an award-winning journalist known for his investigative work on financial and political corruption in Iceland. He holds degrees in philosophy, history, and European political economy from the University of Iceland, the University of Edinburgh, and the London School of Economics.
