Representing the 67th district since taking office on January 15, 2019, he succeeded Dennis Roch in the state legislature. Prior to his political career, Chatfield worked as a rancher at the Bell Ranch and continues to own and operate the Headquarters Restaurant in Mosquero, New Mexico. He is a member of the Republican Party and resides in New Mexico with his family.
