Jacob Frey is an American politician and attorney serving as the 48th mayor of Minneapolis since 2018. Before his election as mayor, he served on the Minneapolis City Council from 2014 to 2018. A member of the Minnesota Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party, Frey has focused his administration on affordable housing initiatives, police reform, and urban infrastructure development. He previously worked as a civil rights and employment discrimination lawyer and was a professional distance runner.
