Jaime Battiste is a Canadian politician and member of the Eskasoni First Nation who has served as a Member of Parliament since 2019. As the first Mi'kmaw MP in Canadian history, he has focused his legislative career on Indigenous reconciliation, environmental advocacy, and increasing investment in Indigenous communities. He currently serves as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations. Previously, he was a prominent advocate for treaty education in Nova Scotia and held leadership roles within the Assembly of First Nations.
