Raised on a farm in Saluda, he began his political career in 2016 as a member of the Polk County Board of Commissioners, where he eventually served as chairman. In the state legislature, he has held leadership roles including House Deputy Majority Whip and chair of several committees, including Oversight and Reform. Outside of his legislative duties, he works as a real estate agent.
