Jaques Wagner

Jaques Wagner is a Brazilian politician and former trade unionist serving as a Senator for the state of Bahia since 2019. A founding member of the Workers' Party and the Central Única dos Trabalhadores, he previously served as Governor of Bahia from 2007 to 2015, Minister of Defence, and Chief of Staff of the Presidency under President Dilma Rousseff. He has been a prominent figure in Brazilian leftist politics and a close ally of Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
