Jean-Yves Duclos is a Canadian economist and politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Québec Centre since 2015. A member of the Liberal Party, he held several high-profile cabinet positions under Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, including Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, President of the Treasury Board, Minister of Health, and Minister of Public Services and Procurement. Before entering politics, Duclos was a distinguished academic, serving as the head of the economics department at Université Laval and as president-elect of the Canadian Economics Association. In 2025, he was elected chair of the Canadian House of Commons Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security.
