Jerry Buttimer is an Irish Fine Gael politician serving as a Member of Dáil Éireann for the Cork South-Central constituency since 2024. He also serves as a Minister of State at the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Department of Transport. Previously, he held several roles in the Seanad Éireann, including Cathaoirleach from 2022 to 2024 and Leader of the Seanad from 2016 to 2020. A former teacher and Director of Adult Education, Buttimer is noted for being the first Fine Gael TD to come out as gay.
