Jim Guthrie is an American politician currently serving as a member of the Idaho Senate, representing District 28 since 2012. A Republican, he previously served in the Idaho House of Representatives from 2010 to 2012 and worked as a Bannock County Commissioner from 2001 to 2007. Guthrie is a graduate of Marsh Valley High School. In his legislative career, he has occasionally taken independent stances, such as being the sole Republican in the Senate to vote against a 2026 transgender bathroom bill.
