Joseph Patrick Kelly is an American attorney and politician currently serving as the 42nd Lieutenant Governor of Nebraska, a position he has held since 2023. Before his election, he served as the United States Attorney for the District of Nebraska from 2018 to 2021 and as the Lancaster County Attorney. His extensive legal career also includes roles as a deputy county attorney and as the Criminal Bureau Chief for the Nebraska Attorney General. Kelly earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1981.
